I needed a graphic for my stock photography and wanted to photograph a model house, I decided to have a go at making one myself. In this tutorial I will show you how to make one yourself.
For how to make a model medieval house please see my tutorial here
You will need
Draw the plan of house onto the graph paper, including tabs. The graph paper will help you measure each wall of the house, when you measure the roof make sure it is wider than the walls.
Using the pencil trace the plan onto the tracing paper, then reverse and place over the card, using the pencil trace the reversed plan onto the card. When you remove the paper the card should have the pencil marks from the tracing paper.
Using the craft knife cut out the plan, be careful and think about every cut and make sure no fingers get in the way of the blade.
Score the fold lines with the craft knife making sure that you do not cut through the card.
With the erase remove all the pencil lines from your card.
Apply PVA glue to the tabs and start to assemble, use strips of masking tape to keep these in place from the inside.
Leave for a couple of hours for the glue to dry.
